What is a Biocidal Active?

A Biocidal Active substance may be a single chemical, or a reaction product made in a manufacturing process.Anti-fouling biocide used on boat hull

The active substance may also be the product of a fermentation process or even microorganisms themselves.

However, they must be designed to destroy, render harmless, prevent the action of, or otherwise exert a controlling effect on any harmful organism by chemical or biological means.
